Following numerous teething problems, it was announced today that the inaugural T20 Global League has been postponed.
Following a Cricket South Africa (CSA) and T20 Global League board meeting today, in consultation with franchise owners, it was announced the 10-week league would be postponed to November next year.
According to a statement released by CSA, stakeholders were in support of the decision.
“We have not come to this decision lightly,” said CSA acting CEO, Thabang Moroe.
He said the decision to postpone was ultimately in the best interest of the tournament.
Pretoria Mavericks owner Osman Osman said they, too, believed it was the best decision for the league, which was set to run at a loss for the first two years.
