Kesa Molotsane won the SPAR Women’s Challenge in Pietermaritzburg today.
The Grand Prix title looks to be hers, after finishing in 34’21”.
Second place went to Rutendo Nyahora, who finished in 34’44”. Irvette van Zyl took third in a time of 34’37”.
Van Zyl lead early on, followed by Lebogang Phalula – who won the Pietermaritzburg race last year-, Nyahora and Molotsane.
Molotsane caught up with her six kilometres in, with Phalula dropping back.
Molotsane then left the other two and crossed the finish line.
“I love hills, and I really liked this route,” said Molotsane.
The final leg of the SPAR Challenge series takes place at Marks Park in Johannesburg on October 8.
